Summer School Tour is back at The House of Blues!
Hey everyone! Summer School Tour is BACKKKK and now in the most iconic venue in Chicago, The House of Blues! This year we welcome Guardrail, Games We Play, Chase Petra, Winona Fighter and Honey Revenge! What a lineup and so many new discoveries for me. As much as I love this tour, I wish the bands had more stage time, I just had the best time and even more so with editing! As of today the tour is sadly over. But I can't wait till next year, hope to see you there!
Lets start with Guardrail because I loved them and they're from Chicago! They are known for "diet punk" genre and I am obsessed! They had an adorable duck join them (of course I got a photo of them). I'm always all for supporting local bands and this is one where I will definitely keep on my radar.
Up next Chase Petra! I have really been sleeping on these bands and I apologize if I keep repeating myself but bare with me. I loved Chase, she gave me "songs that wanna make me shake my ass" type of vibe. And I wasn't the only one....stuff animal Earl made an appearance and did not disappoint. I could not stop smiling and editing these photos just brought back all those memories. So shake your ass yall, life is too short!
Games We Play, you are up! Ugh such a beautiful, emotional experience. Singer, Emmyn, talked about how he stopped touring and writing music for a while due to him believing he was done. But something awoke in him and that he has so much more to offer. He's even a brand new dad, CONGRATULATIONS! I am so happy he decided to come back because I was blown away with his music. It really got to me especially since creatively I've been struggling but I know my work is meant for something. There was even a proposal, CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLE! So many memorable moments and also wanting to give him a hug! I hope they go on tour and come back soon!
Winona Fighter come on down! Holy shit that was intense but fucking awesome! The crowd definitely woke the fuck up during this set! I had to lock in but it was so so fun! I feel so honored to have witnessed it!
Alrighty South Arcade next! OOOH this was fun as well! Coming all the way from Oxford to bring badass music and crazy vibes. I felt the venue shake throughout the whole show! First off I loved the outfit and also it was such a unique sound. It gave me arcade street fighter vibes and of course I'm here for it!
Last but not least Honey Revenge! Ahhh I have heard of Honey Revenge before but hearing them live was a dream! It was super cool to hear my favorites like Habitual! What a way to end the night and the tour! It was a rollercoaster of emotions and experiences that I will never forget.
