Highly Suspect Brings Their "Tour Of Yellow Roses" To Madison

On May 17th, The Sylvee in Madison, WI opened up their doors for Highly Suspect during their "Tour Of Yellow Roses" tour, and Tagging along with them was Dead Poet Society. I was excited for this show, I've never seen them live and it was a going to be a great change from the recent shows I've attended. I've been a fan for a while and really anticipated seeing them live when I saw the tour announced.

I've been to The Sylvee a hand full of times now and I was excited to be back. After arriving I set up and got ready for Dead Poet Society, I had heard of them but never really listened to them. Their set was great, energetic and unique! I did recognize a few songs I've heard on the radio many times and sang along to them, they were a great option to open up for Highly Suspect.

It was that time, each member of the band stepped out one at a time. Johnny stepped out and greeted the crowd before he grabbed his guitar. A few of the members took a quick shot together and then the music hit! They started out the night with "Run for Your Death (More Pills)" and got the crowd jumping. Johnny made sure to take some time out between each song to talk to the crowd, it was nice to see him interacting with the fans, not all musicians do that. At one point between songs he told the crowd they're going to take their time, and they just jammed for a few minutes, hanging out with everyone there. It showed how much they love just playing music, to me it was more of a jam session and hangout with friends then it was about how crazy can we get. It was great, I loved the vibe they brought that night. One of the best parts about the show, besides the music of course, was when Johnny took the time to give the photographers a shout-out and some recognition! That opened up another level of respect for the band, as a photographer and a fan. It was a great night, great show hanging out with Highly Suspect.
