Inside Leather Temple: Our Exclusive First Listen to Carpenter Brut’s Final Chapter

Carpenter Brut weaves darkwave, 1990s synth rock, and metal throughout his trilogy, using each release to further define a sound that is unmistakably his. Rather than simply delivering a cinematic experience, each chapter reflects a clear evolution in scope and control. With abrasive beats, dark textures, and sustained tension, Leather Temple pushes into a more direct and aggressive direction
Stage Riot Media got its hands on an exclusive first listen to Carpenter Brut’s Leather Temple, the closing chapter in a trilogy that began with Leather Teeth (2018) and continued with Leather Terror (2022). With the saga now reaching its final act, anticipation runs high as Carpenter Brut sets out to deliver a definitive ending to his dystopian universe.
Leather Temple is a ten-track album that pulls listeners through an intense, unrelenting journey from beginning to end. The tracklist includes:
- Ouverture (Deus Ex Machina)
- Major Threat
- Leather Temple
- She Rules The Ruins
- Start Your Engines
- Neon Requiem
- Iron Sanctuary
- The Misfits / The Rebels
- Speed Or Perish
- The End Complete
One of the standout tracks on the record is “Leather Temple.” The title track fully embraces the aggression and darkness Carpenter Brut set out to emphasize on this release. What stood out most was the sheer heaviness. It carries the kind of intensity you would expect from a video game soundtrack, reminiscent of the Doom series, which is known for its crushing and high-impact compositions. The production feels massive, driven by heavy riffs and a dense, commanding soundstage that pulls you into its world. Released as a single in December to announce the album, “Leather Temple” served as a clear statement of intent and set the tone for what this final chapter would deliver.
From start to finish, this was a no-skip album for me. Every track pulls you deeper into Carpenter Brut’s world and keeps the momentum moving. One of the biggest standouts is track two, “Major Threat.” What makes this track unique is how confidently it leans into disco-infused techno and layered synths while still maintaining the edge of the record. The slow build toward the first drop creates tension that pays off immediately, setting the tone for the rest of the album. And once it hits, it does not hold back.
Set to release on Feb 27th, listen on all major streaming services.
