I love Chicago, but I chose The Maine!

The Maine has joined us at the Saltshed in Chicago for their Joy Next Door tour with special guests, Friday Pilots Club, Grayscale and Nightly! I have to confess I have not heard of The Maine until now and I am so sad I didn't discover them sooner. The raw energy and the love they share with their fans is so refreshing! It was like a celebration of life and the love of music. Such dancing and smiling I loved it! Did I buy their limited edition merch? Yes and I have no regrets. Just like I know you will not regret listening to their new album! (Which released on the day of this show, April 10).

First up, Friday Pilots Club and what a strong start! I adored their playfulness and passion on stage, it really got everyone in the mood. I really liked their first song, Sleeping on the Ceiling, and now added to my playlist. Hopefully these photos bring out that emotion😄

Next up, my personal favorite, Grayscale (totally did not freak out when I shot these photos). The Philly band would sometimes talk about Asbury Park and since I practically grew up going there over the years, I have grown to be such an admirer of their music. I managed to see them at the infamous Stone Pony and have wanted this opportunity for such a long time. I sang every song in the pit while taking photos, it was such a dream. Definitely worth the wait! 😄

Next is Nightly and another to add to my playlist. I got a very whimsical vibe from them with a hint of badass guitar. Always a love in my book. Coming all the way from Nashville, Tennessee, they bring their magic to the folks of Chicago. I loved their set design with the neon <3 sign. It really puts into perspective what to expect from their set.

Last but not least, it's time for The Maine, and their MAIN event of the tour. They definitely had me jumping for joy during their show and such a unique voice too! I think that was what really drew me in. It's an alternative pop that you normally do not see, which is probably why they are so widely known. How can I describe it? Well it's like you're stepping into nostalgia and into familiar emotions. It's almost like I'm in an empty highway, driving down a night road with this blasting as I'm taking in the peace and calmness. I'm always feeling inspired and reliving the 90s, even though I never been through it. I know it sounds odd but for me, those nostalgic moments always bring me back to that time and I can't help but feel it. Everyone goes into a different moment when they sense nostalgia, but if you would like to have that experience, I once again HIGHLY recommend you give The Maine a try!
