Electric Callboy Took Over Chicago With a Nonstop Party at Wintrust Arena

Walking into Wintrust Arena on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a typical metal show. The crowd was a collision of styles, fishnets and neon alongside band tees and battle vests, all gathered for a lineup that promised chaos in the best way possible.

Scene Queen opened the night with a set that felt like a sugar rush with distortion. Her mix of sass, breakdowns, and hyperpop energy grabbed the room right away. I watched the crowd go from curious to fully locked in within minutes. She balanced humor, confidence, and aggression in a way that just worked. This wasn’t just an opening set, it was a statement, and it landed.

Then came Polaris, bringing a more grounded but just as powerful presence. Their set leaned into emotion without losing intensity. I felt the shift right away. Where Scene Queen was explosive and playful, Polaris felt precise and immersive. Massive riffs and nonstop crowd surfers rolled through the arena, while melodic choruses gave everyone a moment to breathe before the next hit. The pit grew wider, the voices got louder, and by the end of their set, the whole venue was moving together. We even got a wall of death, which left security looking completely lost.

By the time Electric Callboy took the stage, the anticipation felt real. They didn’t waste a second. Lights, visuals, and nonstop energy turned the arena into a mix of rave and metal show. It felt less like a concert and more like a full-on party, where breakdowns and dance beats worked perfectly together.

I found myself laughing one moment and headbanging the next. The band’s energy made everything feel bigger without losing control of the music. Every drop hit harder because the crowd was fully in, jumping, shouting, and feeding off the nonstop momentum.

Walking out of the arena, my ears were ringing and my legs ached, but it was the kind of exhaustion that comes from being fully present. In a city like Chicago, where live music is everywhere, this show still stood out. It was bold, ridiculous, and unforgettable, exactly what a night with Electric Callboy should be.
