Djo Brings Crowd to Their Feet at Sold Out Chicago Theater
It was a beautiful summer day, and the air was electric Friday evening, as the crowd waited in anticipation; the performance of local Chicago legend and global pop icon Djo was only announced to the public last month, but the venue was completely sold out! And from the moment he stepped on stage, the crowd was on their feet.
Djo put on a fantastic performance and played almost all of his songs off his 2025 album "The Crux". The artist's junior album performed incredibly well and was ranked in Entertainment Weekly's " Top 10 Albums of 2025" and gained lots of traction on social media.
The highlight of the evening was when he closed out the main portion of the show with his hit single "End of Beginning". The song that took the artist mainstream can't help but feel anthemic when performed in the very city it was written about- you could really "feel it" as the crowd sang their hearts to the chorus!

Towards the end of the set, Djo gave a heartfelt message to the crowd, expressing his gratitude towards the Chicago music scene that so inspired him to pursue his own musical interests.
"As a young, interested musician I saw so many bands here that I loved and adored and aspired to be like. And to be able to travel across the country with my friends and play on some of these stages, meet these bands, see these bands and be enabled by the community that fostered it here, this really wouldn’t have been possible without any of that."
His passion for this city is so evident, and it was truly moving to see!

Djo is one of my all time favorite artists, so I feel so incredibly honored to cover this show. His talent is astounding and stage presence infectious; this was truly the show of a lifetime to be able to witness! Not only that, but this was my first ever show at the historic Chicago Theater. From the wonderful staff members to the beautiful architecture, it was such a wonderful experience!
You can catch Djo this summer across the globe at various festivals, as well as several headlining shows, and supporting Tame Impala! For more information on dates and tickets you can visit his website here.
