Alejandro Aranda takes over The Echo in Los Angeles

On August 6, 2026, Alejandro Aranda plays a beautifully eerie set at Los Angeles' The Echo. Although he himself exclaimed that the songs were happy, he laughed at his own realization - that the songs/intros themselves were actually very melancholic. Combined with his outfit, which barely showed the top half of his face, the feeling in the room was that almost of sadness.

All that said, Alejandro had an uplifting sense of humor and a smile that would radiate through the room. He would stop and talk to the room, make jokes, and even rile up the room with some barking - and the room would respond by barking back. The type of person he was on stage reminded me a lot of my brother, which in most cases is the life of the party. The room was small - the stage even smaller - and all only for one person; still, Alejandro's performance made the room and the stage feel even bigger than it actually was. His flamenco style playing halfway through his set was something extraordinary. It must have been a ten-minute ordeal. With each strum you just seemed to be drawn in more and more. The room felt like it got oh-so very silent, but the guitar got louder and louder. At some point it didn't feel like you were in a room with other people, but instead, it felt like you were one with the guitar.. it was almost deafening once you were transported to this other world. It almost felt like it was just the two of us locked in a small room.

As someone that wasn't familiar with Alejandro's music, it was definitely a treat to have been able to experience such a feat, and I would urge you to go check him out yourself - if you have the chance. He also brought along some other amazing supporting artists who all had their own varying sound and feel.
