Senses Fail made Chicago Riot!

Reviews Nov 11, 2025

Senses Fail was given the greatest opportunity to perform at the annual Riot Fest in Chicago.

The yearly fest, brings all the Punk, emo and fan favorites to Chicago for a 3 day fest full of trills, heat and Rock.

Senses Fail was also given the opportunity to host a Riot Fest Late night Aftershow at the famous Cobra Lounge,

Senses fail was scheduled to play on the Friday of the fest, there was some excitement as Front man Buddy Nielson always knows how to put on a performance to remember.

One memorable moment was Buddy getting crowned Honorary "Chicagoan" and Bringing out a Marching band to close out their set.

One of if not the best Riot Fest performance of the day for me. Senses fail was the only band i did want to see on Friday and they did not disappoint.

Saturday September 20, The day finally came in which Senses fail would be performing at the Legendary Cobra Lounge in Chicago.

On Instagram Buddy, Lead singer of Senses fail revealed late on Saturday that this set would be one of the heaviest they have done in years. Dusting off the cobwebs off songs from Renacer, Pull the Thorns from your heart. The 300 person venue sold out the show almost instantly when tickets went on sale.

The cobra lounge was basically at full capacity getting closer to Senses fail's set scheduled to kick off at 11:30PM. i was fortunately able to arrive at a reasonable time to find my spot close to the stage and enjoy the show as intended. The night was full of energy as soon as senses fail hit the stage. Buddy came out at 100% and did not stop all night.

Buddy made the night memorable by hyping up the crowd, jumping into the front row, and getting everyone to sing along. The band made it clear they didn’t want Chicago forgetting Senses Fail anytime soon. With age, Senses Fail has become like fine wine, somehow getting better every year. I can confidently say this was one of the best concerts I attended this year, especially getting to hear songs they haven’t played live in years. Count me in.
