Memphis May Fire set the House of Blues on FIRE!

Memphis May Fire set the House of Blues on FIRE!

Memphis May Fire brought the second leg of their "The Shapeshifter Tour" to Chicago for an exhilarating night - full of emotion, passion, and energy - which reminds us why MMF is always welcomed in Chicago!

The night kicked off with If Not for Me, who set the tone with pure intensity. Even from where I was standing, I could feel how tight they sounded. Every note carried a sharp and driving energy that pulled the room in.

Nevertel followed with a huge opener "Break The Silence" from their new album, blending heavy screams with Jeremy’s clean harmonies. Their set hit all the fan favorites, from their latest "Start Again" to "Everything in my mind," and at one point Raul jumped into the crowd and screamed along with everyone packed up front.

Rain City Drive kept the momentum going with a bouncy opener. Even though vocalist Matt McAndrew mentioned feeling under the weather, you could hardly tell. Matt gave everything he had, dancing across the stage and drawing the crowd to stay right there with him. They ran through their biggest hits, from crowd favorite "things are different" to Self titled "Rain city Drive," and kept the energy high from start to finish.

Memphis May Fire closed out the night with a hard-hitting tone. Matty sounded incredible live, cutting through the fog machines and massive speakers with a voice that felt both powerful and effortless. It's refreshing to see Matty perform with MMF. His vocal range always amazed me - going from heavy screams to effortless clean vocals. Talent like this is why he's currently the front man, not only for Memphis May Fire, but he's also the front man for Anberlin. Though two completely different styles, Matty's vocals are what makes him the perfect man for the job.

Little did the crowd know, only hours before the show, the band learned that some of their tour gear had been damaged - in what they later found out was an accident on the highway. No injuries were reported. Everyone was grateful that they were safe and still well enough to take the stage. This made their performance feel all the more emotional and meaningful - a reminder of how much passion and dedication goes into every single night on tour.
