"Let's Start A Riot" With Three Days Grace

Mar 13, 2026

I'll be honest, it was hard to start this review, not in a bad way, but that it was hard to put into words how fantastic the whole night was. Three Days Grace made a stop in Chicago at The Allstate Arena during their "Alienation" tour, bringing with them I Prevail and The Funeral Portrait. From the opening band to the final Three Days Grace song, every minute, every song of the show was phenomenal.

Let's start with the opening band, The Funeral Portrait. I had heard of them but wasn't familiar with their music, the crowd sure seemed to know them! They definitely brought the nostalgic feel of the early 2000's emo scene (which, yes, I'm old enough to have been there from the beginning). From the green hair, outfits, and the music, it was enjoyable from start to finish, I left that night a new fan. They had an amazing energy and stage presence that was very unique to them, the fans love it and so did I.

Now let's talk about I Prevail, I've been following them for a while now but never had the chance to see them, let alone cover them! They came out right way with their heavy energy, screaming and headbanging through their entire set. To top it off they even brought the pyro, which just added even more to their heaviness. The crowd thickened right when they hit the stage, fans jumping and screaming along, the whole arena pounding. They definitely left an impression and I left an even bigger fan and ready for their next show.

Now the one we were all waiting for, Three Days Grace! I had the pleasure of seeing them back in 2009 at a local rock festival, and saw Adam with Saint Asonia a couple times the past few years, so I was thrilled to be able to see them again all these years later. They came out ready to rock! As soon as Adam hit the stage he was ready, he was home again.

I wasn't sure how they were going to pull off two singers but they did a fantastic job splitting it up just right, I was truly impressed. The crowd was too, the second the first note was played the crowd was all over the place, even crowd surfing and moshing. They even brought out Adam's cousin (Saint Asonia) to play a few songs acoustically around a campfire and told the story of how, as kids, they grew up playing music together around the campfire. Of course, they ended the night with "Riot", a fan favorite. The entire arena was jumping and yelling, singing along with Adam. Not only was this the first Arena show I've covered, but it's definitely in my top 5 shows of all time!
