La Santa Cecilia brings a heartwarming performance amidst tough times and cold, stormy weather

What beauty.. what sound.. what marvelous music coming from this Los Angeles-origin band, La Santa Cecilia. I almost feel ashamed to say that it wasn't until recently that I had heard about this lovely group, and they're based out of my home county. To say that I am in absolute awe of this band would be an understatement. Artists like this, with a sound like this, are truly a gem - in every sense of the word. You can't categorize La Santa Cecilia in one category of music; they genuinely make music for just about everyone.. songs that make you want to party the night away, but they also have songs that make you want to grab your partner, tight, and forget about the concept of time.

La Santa Cecilia's sound puts you into a trance-like state where you don't feel yourself move or sway - you just do. They sing and play and it commands your attention... the venue suddenly vibrates by way of the feet of the crowd. People dance, jump, and hold the person closest to them. Along with the mesmerizing melody coming from the stage, whispers fill the air - words of love, affirmation, and just the right amount of lust. Words that truly cannot be translated - in a language that can only be understood by the people they're intended for.

If you're ever looking for new Mexican artists/Spanish music, I couldn't recommend La Santa Cecilia enough. They're a one-stop shop if you're looking for artists with sounds and influences of those like Juan Gabriel, Vicente Fernandez, La Sonora Dinamita, and many more (seriously so many more influences) - but that still have their own sound, twists, and original tracks.

I'm looking forward to the next time I am able to catch La Santa Cecilia again.
