Chevelle takes over Chicago as new album “Bright as Blasphemy” releases

A few nights ago [8/15/2025], Chicago had the privileged of hosting Chevelle at the Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom for their Summer 2025 NA tour - as they perform new hits from their 10th studio album “Bright as Blasphemy” which released that same day. What a momentous day for the band - to be able to celebrate three decades and 10 albums in their home state of Illinois.

This new album is all about being skeptical - being weary of the world around us and the people who may be in some sort of power. As Pete mentions, it is important to be careful about who and/or what we idolize and to be careful of what information we are consuming. In a world full of easy access information, we can’t believe everything we read; it’s important to learn how to be open-minded, think for yourself, and create your own narrative.
While Chevelle is the talk of the night, it goes without saying that you have to appreciate the powerhouse openers that they are touring with - Asking Alexandria and Dead Poet Society.

These are all bands that have their own respective fanbases, so putting them all together you just know that you’re going to have a high-energy/high-octane show - because the only thing they love more than great music is a great time, as confirmed by the gurney that kept passing by me.

Honestly, what an honor it was to be there. As one of the first bands I ever found and listened to on my own, teenage me never would have thought I’d have the opportunity see Chevelle live - especially for such a milestone. I can’t wait to see what more they have coming - as they continue to inspire new generations of musicians and free-thinkers.
