CANNIBAL CORPSE tour package brought community and chaos through the 757
Cannibal Corpse came through Norfolk, Virginia October 21, 2025 with a strong tour package that successfully delivered death metal on a Tuesday night with support first from Fulci (named after the late, great father of Italian gore, Lucio Fulci). They brought their love of horror - and one of the most engaged crowds I’ve seen for a 4th spot support act in a long time. It feels weird to describe a band with songs like "human scalp collection" as fun, but this band was fucking fun if you love a strong theme and solid musicianship. Questi ragazzi spaccano!
Also, Fulci is from Italy and touring is expensive, you should support them: https://fulcicult.bandcamp.com/

Full of Hell: Surprise! Secret band not on the main tour flyer! And I could not have been more stoked! This grindcore band brought some fun experimental noise to a rather straight forward show bill. The crowd was feeding off the energy of Dylan, the lead singer (and noisemaker), as he moved around the stage with the same energy I have only seen at hardcore shows in a seedy basement of a church somewhere that would send an OSHA employee into shock. I wanted to see the crowd be able to match his energy in a way that isn't possible at a raised-stage + 1.5k cap venue but I know would be unmatched.

Municipal Waste returned to their home state and reminded us exactly why we got to the gig early. Norfolk, Virginia (wrongfully) claims Municipal Waste as their own but it’s easy to see why, given the energy they brought to The Norva. Between their iconic trash-can throwing into the crowd, glowing neon skeletons scattered across the stage, and Tony closing the set by thanking security for dealing with the crowdsurfers, the crowd got to fully experience the chaos and community that Municipal Waste inspires wherever they go.

Cannibal Corpse is, unequivocally, a death metal band. Their fans? Die hard. George's hair? The star of the show.
Their show was exactly what I expected - in the best way possible. Cannibal Corpse delivered death metal the only way they know how, which allowed me to be captivated by the crowd. After the first three songs in the photo pit, I stood on the second floor, unable to take my eyes off the crowd, and it felt like watching a really weird renaissance painting that only a legacy band with three strong openers can pull off. There was an eb and flow of captivation between the kids with bold Xs on their hands in the push hoping to feel the rush of being body slammed by a grown man that has had too many beers, the clearly well seasoned CC fans that have been around before Ace Ventura standing stoically towards the fringes of the crowd, and fans that were here for an opener but stayed to see one of the bands that shaped an entire genre. This show (and this tour package) was a really strong reminder of the community that comes along with live music and death metal.
