Brothers, Xavi & Fabio Capri, bring a unique style to their "X-Tour"
Xavi's "X-Tour" made its way through Chicago on November 28th and brought along a very unique stage set-up and style of performance.

Of course, Xavi didn't come alone. As his opener, he brought his older brother, Fabio Capri, who got the crowd all warmed up - which was much needed for a progressively chilly Chicago evening. Honestly, there must be no better feeling than getting to do something with a family member. Growing up together, especially so close in age, must have been amazing for musical brainstorming. There was no one else who could have understood Xavi's dynamic better than Fabio. You can tell that they both have their own sound and their own styles, but it's apparent that they both have incredible talent from the way they bounced off of each other's sound in their duo performances.

To briefly touch base on the stage set-up, it looks like there were multiple platforms - each one covered in some sort of LED screens. The whole set-up was like that of a video game. To those that have played it, it had a similar art style to that of Valorant, and there were six or seven different "acts," almost as if they were rounds of a match. This was definitely a first for me but everything seemed to blend in seamlessly - and was generally a neat visual. As an additional piece of info, while Fabio opted for a more standard approach and used a band format, Xavi had a line of musicians that mostly consisted of brass and strings.

To be quite frank, the turnout wasn't exactly what was expected.. but that didn't stop Xavi from putting on an amazing show! He has some loyal fans; he has fans and community that make a an arena full of singing seem like child's play. I don't think I've ever left a venue to still hear the roaring cheers of the crowd while I'm waiting on the platform for my train (I missed the encore). Before I forget, in each of his acts, Xavi did a cover of a song from many different artists - and many different styles of music. So, not only does he have his own original sound and music, he also does some amazing covers of other popular songs. As a huge fan of Mana (who I also had the amazing opportunity of covering at the end of September), Xavi ended up doing a cover of "Rayando el Sol" - as well as a cover of "Ahora Te Puedes Marchar" by Luis Miguel.
Xavi really is an amazing artist with a lot of potential. He's so young, so full of energy, and so passionate about what he does - that you can see when he's on stage - that it's exciting to see what else he may have in store. I'm wishing him well on the rest of his tour, as it runs into the end of January of the new year, and I cannot wait to catch him live again soon.
As this is being written, he should be performing in Texas, working his way North-East, and then will work his way to the West Coast. If you're a fan of Xavi, or just want to enjoy a fun, energy-filled concert, then I highly recommend to catch him in a nearby city and support a young artist who clearly loves what he does.
