Black Veil Brides Prove Their Fire Still Burns Bright In Chicago

Black Veil Brides Prove Their Fire Still Burns Bright In Chicago

On May 22, Black Veil Brides brought their highly anticipated “Vindicator” to the Ramova Theatre in Chicago for a night that was filled with excitement, laughter, and raw emotions.

The night was kicked off by As December Falls, Tx2, and From Ashes to New. I was fortunate enough to catch the last few songs of As December Falls, and I was just taken away by the band’s sound and energy. Singer (Bethany Curtis) gave her everything to her set. From her stage presence to her crowd control. She had the Ramova in her hands. I hope to catch one of their full sets soon! As they made a great impression on me.

Tx2 and From Ashes to new was up next, two bands that have a strong following and were a great fit for this night. Tx2, the band went viral back in 2021 came on to the stage with heavy applause. One by one each of the band members made their way to the stage each getting their share of applause along the way. as the build up from their into hit its peak that’s when singer Timothy Thomas hit the Stage in a sprint into a knee slide kicking off the first song. Little did we know that energy would translate what they set was all about.

From ashes to new was next, and when I say I felt the anticipation in the room, I meant it. The front row was a mix of Ashes to New fans mixed in with BVB fans. I have had the privilege of seeing them play at the House of Blues last year. So I was already hyped to get to experience their set up close. I can confidently say not only did they perform great as expected but they blew me away with their theatrics. If it’s guitarist Lance doing his iconic mask switching in between songs. To singer Danny, feeding into the crowd with interactions, waving, and gestures. Each of the band members performed to a standard you could tell they regard as high.

At last, the reason we all came to Ramova Theatre had arrived. Black Veil Brides was up next, and the crowd was beyond ecstatic. They opened with an intro that immediately had me intrigued, featuring a stage setup that felt almost like a ritual space, surrounded by candles, fog machines, and dramatic spotlights. For a moment, it truly felt like we were all transported into BVB’s world. One by one, each member of Black Veil Brides made their way onto the stage, starting with drummer Christian Coma. Last to appear was Andy Biersack, and the second he stepped onto the stage, the crowd erupted. The cheers completely overtook the sound effects playing through the venue, making it clear just how much anticipation had built up throughout the night.

The night was filled with emotions I honestly couldn’t put into words. Looking around the venue, I saw signs from fans saying BVB saved their lives, while others shared that they traveled hours just to be there. It really made me feel grateful for the opportunity to experience and cover this show. I walked in as a fan myself, but seeing the connection so many people had with this band was something completely different.

Black Veil Brides showed true showmanship throughout the entire night, constantly checking in on the crowd and making sure everyone was safe. Even in a medium-sized venue, the amount of crowd surfers was nonstop. You could tell Andy genuinely cared. Between songs, he took moments to praise the security team for their hard work and for keeping everyone safe while allowing fans to have the best experience possible.

Words can only do so much when describing a Black Veil Brides show. I can comfortably say this was my favorite show of the year. Each band left a lasting impression and brought something special to the night.

I cannot stress this enough. If BVB is coming to your area, DO NOT MISS IT! You will be amazed by the talent, the raw musical power, and the emotions felt throughout the entire room. It showed that BVB was not just performing another show, they were creating a moment for every single person in that crowd.

Walking out of the venue, it was clear why this band means so much to so many people. It was more than just music, it was an experience I won’t forget anytime soon.
